CELEBRATING ELBA`S UNIVERSITY GRADUATION

Woohoo! On Saturday, March 29, Elba walked across the stage at her university to receive her diploma. She had completed the last requirement, defending her thesis with excellence and graduated with excellent grades.

Elba came to be part of the La Casa family when she was just three years old. She has always been shy and very observant, comfortable with standing in the back and watching everything rather than jumping right into things. As she began school, she spent hours doing her homework, often with her housedad sitting right with her to help her through. But as Elba persevered, she learned that taking the time to invest in her studies paid off.

As Elba neared her high school graduation, she knew she wanted to continue her education and study nutrition. She was able to enroll in The Evangelical University thanks to a sponsor who paid for her tuition, books and other fees. And Elba didn’t take that gift for granted, thus she took full advantage of the opportunity given to her.

We are so proud of Elba, her hard work and accomplishments. As we say in Latin America, Elba is now a “licenciada” . . . a university graduate, an honor that is only obtained by roughly eleven percent of the population.

Join us in celebrating this achievement and praying for Elba as she begins searching for permanent work as a nutritionist.
