In Proverbs 16:9 (NIV) it says, “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” We’ve been on a journey this year looking back at God’s faithfulness. God certainly has showed up in big ways over the years. He has been our constant, and we have tried to make Him our guide. But God’s faithfulness doesn’t mean that we have prayed for what we want and He has just handed out our wishes. He’s let us stumble, He’s let us come to the end of our rope and He has let us let dreams die. He has taught us much about Himself.
One dream that we had, building an education center, seemed to die several years ago when it became so cumbersome and full of red tape to construct and run a school in El Salvador. We continued our path of sending the children off site for schooling. But COVID. Out of a hard season of trying to school so many children with limited access to internet, climbing trees to try to get an internet signal and pulling all of our staff off task just to survive, God opened doors we never thought imaginable. Listen as Gary talks about the hope God has placed in our hearts once again.
