HELP US HELP THEM MOVE BEYOND TRAUMA

Trauma – such as physical and emotional abuse or neglect, parental mental illness, or substance abuse, having a parent incarcerated, etc. – causes changes in the brain and the hormonal system. Trauma traps an individual in a repeated state of “flight or fight” and can cause serious mental and physical health difficulties. The children of La Casa have suffered significant trauma, and the ways in which it impacts their health definitely supports this research.

Taking care of the children’s health is vital. By the end of this year, we will have spent $18,000 on health care for the 33 children and young adults we serve. This includes regular check-ups, dental and orthodontic care, eye care, neurological care, nutritional care and other specialists. When we receive new children, there is a battery of healthcare evaluations that are needed as part of the intake process. Many of the children require on-going medications. We want to ensure that each child gets the care they need.

As Giving Tuesday nears, we invite you to help us raise the necessary funds to provide these services for the children we serve for the coming year. Would you consider giving towards this cause to help us continue to provide the medical care needed?

Tax deductible gifts made on or for Giving Tuesday should be made out to:
My Father’s House International and mailed to MFHI; P.O. Box 20673; Roanoke, Virginia 24018.
You can also give online: go to www.mfh-elsalvador.org, and then choose Special Projects.

Thank you for your prayers, your support and consideration of this giving opportunity to provide vital healthcare for the children.
