SEASONS OF CHANGE. PART 2

We shared with you in our last blog that seasons are changing in La Casa. As adolescents age out of protective care, space is created in our homes. As of the latest statistics we know, there are over 200 children awaiting longer term placement, partly due to the increased number of people who have been imprisoned. Many of their children have been passed from family member to family member, and when resources run out, many end up on the streets to survive.

Since we have empty beds, we are now taking in children. Does this aliviate the problem in this country? No. We’d love to have more space, more homes where children can live in a family setting, but for now, we are doing what we can do.

Last week, five small children came to make La Casa their home for this season in their lives. The children we have taken in are young, very young. They are also sibling groups as we feel siblings should remain together whenever possible. This brings a new dynamic as the children we currently have have grown and are now in or entering their teen years. Those entering are little with lots of energy and excitement!

Would you pray with us to a solution for those children needing placement in this country? Would you pray for the little ones we have taken in? May the children find La Casa a place of security and love. Together, we can be a light in the lives of children and families from hard places here in El Salvador.
