THANK YOU GABY
We are always thankful for partners, and as we looked at the large blackboard in the offices that recorded mission teams visiting this year, we saw a full calendar. We also knew we would need reinforcement to serve alongside these teams as well as hold done the fort, so to speak, with everything within La Casa. So, we looked at each other and asked, “Who can help?” Our communication director spoke up in a quiet voice and said that her daughter, who was taking a gap year in between graduating for high school and heading to university abroad, would be available if we wanted her help. “Perfect” was everyone’s reply!
Gaby was excited about the challenge ahead. She jumped right in and found options for each team’s free day, quickly learned the routine and assumed many of the daily responsibilities of making sure teams got to where they needed to be and knew their work assignment. She kept the leaders informed of any changes and ensured they enjoyed a delicious meal each evening. She was friendly, efficient, assumed leadership and made our summer team season a win-win for everyone. Not only did we gain new friends, Gaby grew in her leaderships skills and our teams were stretched to grow in their faith. We could not have done it without her!
Gaby also realized the impact a trip like this could make for participants. She was intentional in her time spent with teams and formed many friendships along the way that I am sure will last far beyond just our team season.
Gaby is now in Hungary getting ready to begin her first year of studying medicine. We wish her the best and look forward to watching how God continues to use her life in service to others. Thank-you Gaby for your time spent with La Casa!
