FAITHFUL FRIENDS
There are people in our lives whom we call “faithful.” People who show up, over and over. Each March we partner with a medical group whom we would call “faithful.” We can count on them as the calendar roles over into March to partner with us, bringing their skills and everything necessary to set up a clinic for our neighbors. Our staff helps to translate and a local doctor and dentist join in to complete the team. We even have staff who have been trained to do some basic eye exams. This relationship has been ongoing for almost as long as we can remember.
Our neighbors can’t always get out of their small communities to get to a doctor when they are sick. They walk wherever they need to go and not all have that ability, so having the opportunity to sit and talk to professionals about whatever they may be struggling with medically meets a real need. The two clinic days give our neighbors a chance to be heard and listened to. That, in itself, is a basic need we all have.
After hosting a medical clinic for two days, this team provided trainings in CPR and how to use defibulator for our staff. They also provided a first aid kit for each home and our offices.
Thank you to all who came to serve our neighbors. We are grateful for each person who gives up a week of their time and talents to give to others.
