FOSTERCARE WALKWAY

A walkway serves as a safe and designated space for people to walk, guiding them to their destination while ensuring their safety.

As the rainy season began, the walk to the newly constructed building that now houses our Foster Care Pilot Program offices became messy. The staff was met with the challenge of tracking mud on their shoes. Sweeping soon became a shared chore, occurring several times a day. Moreover, walking on the newly planted grass was not helping it grow.

As the Faithbridge Church Team from Houston, Texas grew, they expressed a desire to contribute to two projects during their week of service and learning with us. We offered them the opportunity to lay slate to create a walkway leading to the offices. Their response was enthusiastic, and they eagerly accepted the task.
The Faithbridge Team diligently dug out a path for the slate, carried the slabs of slate, and meticulously laid them in place. They also spread the dirt dug up around the building so that grass seed replanted could have a better opportunity of taking root and growing. Within a short span, a long walkway took shape. This walkway stands as a symbol of a path towards a place that holds the opportunity to provide support for families who choose to become temporary foster families, a program that is currently undergoing a redesign in El Salvador. We are excited to partner with the government in this endeavor.

Throughout the week, the Faithbridge Team demonstrated passion for helping and doing. However, what truly surprised them was the opportunity to learn about the profound impact of God’s work in the world. They witnessed how God intentionally brings people together to encourage one another, collaborate to advance His mission, and to draw our attention to His desire for our complete devotion.

The Faithbridge Team diligently gave it their all as they engaged in various projects. However, their most significant contribution was their love and care for the children, staff, neighbors, and each other. Thank you Faithbridge Team for your partnership and unwavering support.
