WHO DOESN`T LIKE DIGGING IN THE DIRT

We kicked May off by partnering with a team from Faithbridge Church out of Houston, Texas. They were with us for four days of learning and serving, and we all, both young and old, learned that teamwork can be a lot of fun.

This wonderful team spent time learning about La Casa, the children we serve and many of the “whys” behind why we do what we do, but they also came to help us move along on a project that has been on our to-do” list for quite a while now.

After two days of soaking in lots of information and serving our neighbors, they rolled up their sleeves and pulled out the tiller and shovels and muscles to help us replace the mulch under the children’s playground area. That area gets a lot of use! It wasn’t ‘t long after the team started their work that the children came out and got excited about helping on a job where they could dig in the dirt. There aren’t too many kids who don’t enjoy playing in the dirt!

Everyone did stop midday to eat a hotdog cooked on the grill by the team, but it was back to work right after lunch. And the final result? The playground looks so much better and play will be safer, but more importantly, we all got to enjoy time together and get to know each other just a little bit better.

Thank you to Faithbridge Church for your hearts for the ministry and God’s work around the world. Together, we can accomplish much!
